Go Stingrays

Allison just started playing soccer. Her team is improving each game. Last night she tried 3 times to kick a goal. She came very close. In the begening she was scared of the ball hitting her, but as the season as progressed you can really see her grow with her skills. Every game she improves more and gets more into the game. She is playing with the City of Surprise Park and Rec. At her age group they don't keep score, even though the parents do, and everyone plays. They get to take turns being goully (sp) and I think it really helps their self confiedence. Allison is definatly a girly girl. Sometimes her and another little girl Lilly are more interested in how their hair looks, talking about their uniforms or playing some silly hand clapping game vs. paying attention to the game. At least their having fun. She can throw the ball really well. I think in the future I may sign her up for T-Ball or soft ball. She can really throw and I think she would be good at that. Katie is wanting to play now too. She will have to wait till she is 5 years old, so 2 more years.

When we mentioned to Katie we were going to practice with Allie she said, " Allie is going to try and take the ball away from me, but I am not going to let her, because I am quick." She loves to cheer on the Stingrays. You can hear her yelling, "Kick the ball Allison" or "Go Stingrays". The whole family has had a lot of fun watching the games. Now that the weather is cooling down it has been nice also. It is kind of hard to enjoy the game at Noon in 110 degrees. Last night was perfect.

You say it's your birthday!

Thank you everyone for the birthday thoughts and flowers. Even though I had to work on my birthday it was still a good day. The girls picked out an oreo cake, they said it matched my hair. Is that the white (gray) part of my hair or the dark part. I guess it is time to dye it again. :) We don't have any party plans just another year.

Katie wanted to play Vanna and show off the flowers. Mondo bought the roses and the girls gave me a carnation a piece.
This is the flowers my mom, dad and Alexus sent me. They are so pretty. My parents started a tradition when we were little to always send / give us flowers on our birthdays. This is something that has meant a lot over the years and still does. So much so, that when Mondo and I were dating I wouldn't let him give me flowers on my birthday as that was my parents special thing. Once we got married then I thought it was okay. The tradition has now been passed on to our children. I think Mondo thought I was nuts buying the girls flowers on their 1st birthday. I told him it may not mean something now but it will when they get older. Last year Allison was already looking forward to the flowers wanting to guess what kind she was going to receive.

Happy Birthday Connor

On Sunday we celebrated Connor's 7th birthday. Julie reserved the club house and we got to hang out and swim . The kids enjoyed the pool table and the pizza.
It was nice because there were not to many kids which made it nice to just be able to relax. Amy and her son Matthew came up and even cousin IT.
Okay, it was Allison. I don't think cousin IT had that pretty of hair color. And no, we don't dye it. Here are some other random pictures from the party. Now keep in mind we were swimming so yes, my hair is not done in the pictures. :) Happy Birthday Connor we had a lot of fun at your party. ( Connor and Matthew were being camera shy)

Our American Idol

Katie's new past time is to run around dancing and singing. We have are own American Idol. She loves to make up songs and have you dance and clap with her. It is not unusual for her to be bouncing side to side yelling " Clap With Me", "Dance With Me" or "Sing with me" and if you don't she starts ALL OVER.

Chef Allison

The girls spent the day yesterday with their Grandma Kathi, Mondo's mom. Allison is so excited about her new chefs outfit. She wants to cook just like her dad does. Before you know it she will be teaching me how to cook.

I remember not to long ago I went to make some macaroni and cheese. Here comes Allison, "Mom, first your will need a pan!" Okay, even the kids know how good of a cook I am. :)

I think it is great that she likes to help in the kitchen. With her dad's cooking skills she has one of the best teachers there is. I am sure she will be making gourmet meals by second grade. Okay maybe third. Don't want to set the expectations to high.
