California

We made it back from California. We had a great time with My cousin Charity and her family.

All of us went to Disneyland for the day. The girls had a blast.

Armando rode Space Mountain. He had been scared to ride it since he was little. Well, we have passed down that tradition. They have changed it a little since the last time I was on it. It is much faster and darker. Sorry Allie!

The younger kids were tierd so I kept Ciara who is 7 and Allison for a few hours while the others rested. We had a great time together. Here are some cute pictures I took of them while it was just us girls.

This is the rats from the new movie "Ratatouille". The girls did the Autotopia 3 times. They loved that ride. We did not get to do the new Nemo ride, as it was a 4-5 HOUR wait. Nothing is worth that much time in line.

(I think Ciara is thinking "Another Picture")

We did try the new Buzz Light Year ride. That was fun.
I think the girls favorite part was the parade.

In Memory of Harold Sisley "My Grandfather"

We just got back from Iowa. My grandfather passed away last Friday and all of us jumped in the car and drove back to Iowa for the funeral. This is a picture of my grandparents in January when Julie, Amy, Lisa and I went back and visted.

The girls did great in the car. It took us 26 hours to get there. We caravanned with my parents. It only took about 22 hours to get home. No parents, we could drive faster. Just kidding. The girls enjoyed playing at the Missouri Valley, Iowa park.

My grandfather was a great man. I heard a lot of people say some great things about him. I remember when we would go to give him a kiss and he would flick his fake teeth at you. At the viewing I kept waiting for him to do that. He also liked to show you on the elbow where the horse bit him and then he would bonk you on the head. He was a great father who raised 5 boys and survived. He was one of the most honest men I knew.
It is sad the only time family get together is weddings and funerals. I got to see some cousins I haven't seen in 20 years. We have promised to not wait that long again to see each other.

We just got back today. We are taking off this afternoon for California. We had promised the girls Disneyland so we are still going.I will post pictures of that when we come back.Grandpa, I love you and will miss you. :(

I'm a First Grader now!

Today Allison and the other Cimmeron Springs Kindergarteners put a show on for their parents. Then they received their certificate passing the first year of school. One down and many more to go!

Here is a picture of Allison and her teacher Mrs. Kennedy. She had a great teacher this year. I helped out a few times in the classroom and don't know where she gets the patience from, I would go nuts. This year I have noticed so many changes with Allison. She is becoming such a nice and sweet young lady. She loves to read and help out around the house. She has even started picking up after herself, including her room, without being asked. She loves school and will miss many of her friends. It will be a long summer. We are going to continue working on her writing and reading. With Allison's 2 broken arms this year she still needs some extra help working on her penmanship, or maybe that is something she got from me too. We all know how pretty my handwriting is. Not!

Afterwards we all went to lunch to celebrate at Chucky Cheese. I think Allison was just happy she only had two hours of school today. We had a great time. It was fun playing the games trying to win tickets. It was like I was a kid again. Katelynn was a little hesitant going up to Chucky Cheese, but was okay standing by her "Sissy", that is what she calls Allison.

Watch out Allison and Katelynn are driving. Who knew we would need insurance so young. :)

As you can tell Allison was thrilled to have her picture taken. This look reminds me of someone I just can't put my finger on it. I wonder where she gets it from! Mondo?

We have lots planned for this summer. The girls are both in swim lessons and we bought a family pass to Surprise’s Aquatic Center. Allison and I went up there tonight. It was a nice way to cool off from the Phoenix heat since it is suppose to be 107 degrees.

Harkins has a deal where you can see 10 Disney movies for $7.00 for the entire summer. You watch one a week so we will be doing that on Thursdays. We have the Wildlife Zoo not to far from us and will be visiting there early in the mornings once a week to learn about the different animals. Then at the end of June we will go and visit my Cousin Charity and her family. We plan to take the kids to Disneyland while we're there. I will make sure to post pictures of the trip when we return.

Hope everyone has a great summer!
Terri
